DevLog 2 - The Battle Begins
As the title mentions, the battle truly does begin with a rough implementation of the battle system. The system is currently a working turn-based monster fighting scene akin to another huge game that will not be named, with similar animations, move sets, and UI. This is all in development and may be changed at a later date, if we so choose. Currently, we are happy with how it is going. While in this battle system, you can look into your party, choose a move and attack, and flee depending on your situation. There are some random encounters added as well, with some familiar faces from the previous build and we currently have only a tiny roster to get some bugs out of the way.
Speaking of familiarity, the map is expanded on just a tiny bit from the last build, it holds more ambiance. There is a day and night cycle that occurs as well as some new lights for a certain asset, I hope there will be more later on when designing another map. There is also a new menu screen with some functionality and in-game pause with no implementation yet (while not in battle)!
